Tamarindo, Costa Rica – 1 bedroom apartment for $16 per day – surfs UP!

This is where I have hung my hat and worked for the last 3 weeks.

The Hotel Gardenia in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I rent this for $16 per day.

This is a 1 bedroom apartment. Small little stove, refrigerator, lounging area, bedroom and a bathroom.

The apartment has hot water, both in the kitchen and bathroom. For those not familiar with Central America, that is a big deal. I traveled in Honduras for over 2 months and had 1 hotel room that had hot water. So, this is nice!

The complex has 4 apartments. The main apartment, seen when you walk down the entrance sidewalk, is the caretakers apartment.

Mine is to the right, and there is another to the left, basically “underneath” the caretakers apartment.

There are two apartments on both sides of the walkway coming into the complex. Probably bigger then mine, though I have not seen the interior of either one.

When you first walk into the apartment, there is, as I call it, a “lounging” area. A picture of  the area is on the right in the upper set of pictures. On the right in the pictures below.

Off to the left is the kitchen area.

The bathroom and bedroom are in the back of the apartment.

Pretty nice digs, for one of the more popular spots in Costa Rica.

I have enjoyed my stay here. Off the main section of town and it’s secluded from any traffic. Nice and quiet, just the way I like it!

If your headed to Tamarindo, Costa Rica in Central America, this would be a good place to hang your hat!

Clean, comfortable, hot water and a pool within 20 steps of your apartment. That is a tough combination to beat in Latin America.

Cheers for now.

  2. John Wilson says:

I can get a house, south of here, for $100 LESS a month and bigger, right on the beach. Shall I draw a picture? :)

This is fantastic!! I like this idea of $16 per day! But I like the idea of a whole house on the beach for less than $100 month.

  4. John Wilson says:

No, Senaf, it is $100 less per month then what I am paying now!
House will be $400 per month on the Pacific ocean!

    John,
I sent you an e-mail a little while ago and was interested in this property. I’m relocating there in about 3 weeks and wondered if you had any contact information for the owner/caretaker? Also, I was curious about this beach rental you were talking about and wondered how frequent you can find places like that.
    Thanks, Dolph
