About Me

Hello.

John D. Wilson is my name

Me and my cabin on the shores of Lago Yojoa, Honduras

Please – pull up a chair and have a cup of coffee.

Thanks for visiting my website, The Big Mozey.

I’m pleased that you have stopped for a visit!

Let me convey to you what this website is all about.

I have designed and run this blog.

I am a rookie at this web designing stuff.  At present, this is my “best shot”.

I am 58 years old, single and have no children.  (That I am aware of – no paternity suits)

In 2008, when Bush decided to bail out the banks – I decided to bail out of the USA. This is separate story, located here.

The blog allows me to convey my travel experiences and thoughts about life in general. I do this with posts and pictures

I sincerely hope you like my writing style and photographs.

I am aware that all the people of the world will not love my blog. (I hope some people do!)  Writing styles are different, thoughts and expressions convey the authors biases. We, as a species, are not always compatible.

Therefore, I have a “Other Travel Sites” section that might interest you. If  travel, other countries, or other cultures fascinate you, please take a look

Life is a journey. The pleasure of the journey increases with friends.

Send me an email, leave a comment. I would like to hear your thoughts/feelings/recommendations about what you have read and the pictures you have seen.

You’ve come to my blog as a stranger, I hope you leave as a friend!

Cheers!

John D. Wilson

    Hi John,

Just read through a couple of your articles and your “About Me” section and wanted to drop you a quick note. I liked the advice you gave on starting a travel blog. My boyfriend and I decided to start one and it’s been going well so far, kind of hard at times to find things to write about. Overall, we wanted to start a blog to unite travelers. We’ve traveled on our own before we met and found it difficult at times to meet people while abroad so thought it would be great if we could start something that would link all of us together. Still in planning stages. Anyways, can’t wait to read more on your travels.

    Hugs!
    Toni

By now you will have been to Siuna, Nicaragua but I can’t find anything on your blog about the town. I am Canadian and lived there in the 1950′s. My Dad operated the comissary for La Luz Gold Mines. At that time there were only 14 white families who lived in a compound and we all lived in quite nice houses up on a hill as I recall. I would like to return but don’t know if it’s safe, if there are any places to stay, etc. I have a ton of pics from our time there (my Dad sponsored the baseball team) and we were the first white family to be given a going away party. Any info on the place would be greatly appreciated. Hope you are enjoying your exploration of our planet.
